The following lineage articles are not meant to analyze characters from the main narrative of the history but more to identify the early characters who started the migration to Great Britain and also were the first of the blood line for those later characters that are so famous in the history. The first thing that struck me when cataloging the lineages was that both Bron and Peter are titled as no more than “relatives” to Joseph de Arimathea. This leaves a vast plain of interpretation as to who they really are. The bloodline from Bron are known as the Rich Fishermen and the Grail Keepers but they also have the claim to Galahad II, who is perfect and without sin. Only one other character is known in this way, and that is Jesus Christ. Is it possible that the bloodline of the Grail Keeper’s are directly descended from Jesus Christ? Galahad’s associations to the resurrected Christ only magnify when we witness his ability to overcome the adventures of Great Britain. Galahad is the unification of the Joseph de Arimathea bloodline (by Pelles’s daughter) and Nascien (by Lancelot). This unites the two bloodlines that spearheaded the conquest of Great Britain for Christianity.
While Perceval is left out completely from the genealogies, he is reasserted in the Persevalus High Book of the Grail. It is there that we learn Perceval is directly linked to the Rich Fishermen and Grail Keepers in blood line and descent. His sister, thereby, would be the mother of Galahad and that makes him Galahad’s uncle. With this connection Galahad’s mother is no longer of the flesh, because in the Grail Quest Perceval’s sister is said to be a virgin and it is by her virgin blood the leper Queen is healed. In this act of altruism Perceval’s sister dies when she gives a helmet full of blood. Later, the leper’s castle is destroyed by a storm of lightning and thunder brought by God. Her body sails on a boat to Sarras, where it is buried with the other Questers and the Holy Vessel. Interestingly, Alan’s first act as the Grail Keeper is to cure a leper king and convert him to Christianity. Calefes, the leper king, is cured at the sight of the Holy Vessel. Likewise, Perceval’s sister cures a leper by her blood and dies in doing so. She gives up her body as a sacrifice for the sins of another. More importantly, she gives up her blood for the sinner. Can we dare assert that by her blood, she is connected to the lineage of Jesus Christ? It is clear that the writers kept from divulging too much about this mysterious figure, other than calling her Perceval’s sister. The triumvirate of Bors, Perceval and Galahad as the questers who achieve the grail then, given the aforesaid discovery, demonstrates the lineage of Nascien (through Bors), the lineage of Bron (through Perceval and his sister) and the confluence of the two through Galahad. The combined lineages is the very key to the Grail mystery, and by there unity we see the mystery of the grail come to a final conclusion.
A second thing that jumps out is that Gawain’s lineage is related to Joseph de Arimathea, which many people do not associate with him. Juxtaposed with the lineages of repute are those that bore no fruit, namely that of Caanan and his twelve brothers. Caanan, through envy, kills his brothers in one night. Caanan draws a direct parallel to Cain, brother to Abel. It is no surprise his name is similar. He is buried alive by Joseph and his followers for this crime. Moreover, the character of Moses is punished in a torrent of flames when he, through pride, presumes to sit in the empty seat at the table of the Holy Vessel.
In the text the reader discovers that King Ban’s wife is “a descendant of the noble line of King David, noble in the eyes of both God and the world.” King Ban is given special consolation from the Lord when he sees his city in flames, allowing death at his beseeching. This means that Lancelot and the whole Nascien line are descendants of the same royal lineage that housed Jesus Christ. Mary is addressed as “a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the House of David” (Luke 1:27) and again it is said about Joseph: “(because he was of the house and lineage of David)”. Thus, the blood of Lancelot is that of the birth house of Jesus Christ, and the convergence of the Bron bloodline with his own represents the partnership between Joseph De Arimathea and Jesus Christ, for Joseph was the one who entombed his body after the crucifixion. The only thing that can detract from the thesis that Lancelot and Galahad are of the blood of Christ is that Joseph did not conceive Jesus with Mary but that she was conceived without knowing a man carnally. Her virginity status represents an obstacle to defining the House of David as anything more than the keepers of Christ’s bloodline through patronage.
